“Habitat has provided a wealth of great experiences and memories. Meeting and working with a variety of homeowners, meeting and developing long lasting friendships with other volunteers, the sense of 'family' with the crew that has developed from working together...when you put yourself out of the center and set your expectations on receiving nothing back for what you do and just focus on serving others, incredible things will happen to those you serve and once in a while, you'll be rewarded as well. It might be a smile on the face of a new homeowner, or from a new volunteer that just learned how to do something new. Many times big rewards can come in small and subtle ways, remember to take the time to look for them as well or they will just pass you by.”
